Ventura County has some fantastic options for watching fireworks, primarily centered around Independence Day celebrations. Depending on what city you are closest to, here are the top spots to catch a show:
 

Oxnard (Channel Islands Harbor)

The Show: Fireworks by the Sea
When: July 4th at 9:00 PM

The Vibe:
A local favorite. You can spend the day enjoying a family parade, electric boat parade, and an expanded farmers market at Harbor View Park. At night, grab a blanket and watch the colors reflect beautifully over the water.


Downtown Ventura

The Show: City-led Community Fireworks Display
When: Friday, July 3rd at 9:00 PM

The Vibe:
Ventura's traditional July 4th show at Ventura College is taking a break this year (returning in 2027). Instead, the city is hosting a free fireworks show on July 3rd, launched from the top of the Santa Clara Street parking structure. Great viewing can be found throughout downtown, including Plaza Park, with a musical simulcast on KBBY 95.1 FM.

Thousand Oaks / Newbury Park

The Show: Conejo Recreation and Park District / City of Thousand Oaks Fireworks Spectacular
When: July 4th at 9:00 PM

The Vibe:
Fireworks are launched from the hill behind the Hillcrest Center for the Arts. Excellent free viewing spots include the parking lots of Janss Marketplace and The Oaks Mall. Tune into KHAY 100.7 FM for choreographed patriotic music.

Simi Valley

The Show: Star-Spangled Rock & Country Jam at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park
When: July 4th (Gates open at 3:00 PM, fireworks at 9:00 PM)

The Vibe:
Hosted by the Kiwanis Club, this full-day festival features live music, food trucks, craft vendors, and a kids' fun zone. The music is simulcast on 99.1 The Ranch.

Camarillo

The Show: Camarillo Premium Outlets July 4th Fireworks
When: July 4th at 9:00 PM (Last parking entry at 8:45 PM)

The Vibe:
A very convenient, free option where you can park in the massive outlet lots, tailgate with family and friends, and enjoy the show.

Moorpark

The Show: 3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza at Arroyo Vista Community Park
When: Friday, July 3rd (Festivities begin at 4:00 PM, fireworks at 9:00 PM)

The Vibe:
Celebrate a day early with games, food vendors, and live entertainment before the fireworks begin.

Admission: $8 in advance | $10 at the gate


Ojai

The Show: Nordhoff High School Stadium Fireworks Show
When: July 4th (Gates open at 5:30 PM, fireworks at 9:15 PM)

The Vibe:
Ojai pairs its iconic morning parade with a ticketed nighttime stadium show. Expect live music and a highly community-centered atmosphere.

Santa Paula

The Show: Santa Paula Creek Regional Sports Park (Harvest at Limoneira)
When: July 4th (Festivities from 4:00 PM–8:30 PM, fireworks at 9:00 PM)

Best Daytime July 4th Events in Ventura County

If you're looking for family-friendly activities before the fireworks begin, here are some of the best daytime celebrations happening throughout the county.

Ventura 4th of July Street Fair & Pushem-Pullem Parade

What:
A massive, historic community tradition that begins with the famous Pushem-Pullem Parade at 10:00 AM. This quirky, pedestrian-only parade features decorated bikes, scooters, strollers, and wagons—no motorized vehicles allowed.

The celebration continues with the Street Fair from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM in Downtown Ventura, featuring:

Bonus 2026 Celebration:
